A new start with a new website for artist Liz Strick
Liz Strick, artist, launched her new website today: www.lizstrick.com. Liz makes colourful expressionistic paintings full of emotion. She is looking forward to a new start in 2014, having not long ago been diagnosed with breast cancer. With the treatment behind her, the new website is symbolic of this new beginning.
Liz prefers to put this period behind her. “Whilst living with breast cancer has had a tremendous emotional impact on me, I have now finished the recommended course of treatment and am gathering my energy to make a new start in 2014. The new website is part of that new start.”
Following formal education in Fine Art, Liz took a number of art courses abroad, as part of which she was apprenticed by visual artist Orhan Taylan in Istanbul and later by visual artist and curator Oliver Bevan in London. Liz derives the inspiration for her work essentially from her experiences gained living abroad over a period of 25 years.
No painting without emotion
Liz’s works capture her spirit entirely. “Through my work I approach reality with my intuition, in which I have total confidence. Dreams, fantasies and illusions play an important part. Through my work I communicate the stages of my life, their meaning, and the relationships between myself and the world. Many of my paintings, even the landscapes and still-lifes, express my emotions and moods.”
Liz has exhibited in Curaçao, England, Germany, Kuwait, The Netherlands, Turkey, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. Her works feature in many Dutch and foreign private collections. Those who wish to become better acquainted with her work and methods are welcome to visit Liz in person at her studio. Alternatively, her work will be exhibited on Sunday 2 February in Arnhem during the Regional Art Day at the Town Hall.
